About us

Nearly New Cashmere sell immaculate secondhand 100% cashmere knitwear, accessories and vintage silk scarves. We are proud to be secondhand, but never second best.

our story

Nearly New Cashmere restores thousands of second hand 100% cashmere pieces a year.

After years as an avid secondhand shopper as well as seller, our founder Ali focused her attention on buying discarded 100% cashmere. She couldn't let such a precious fabric go to waste and committed to making this luxury affordable to everyone.

our process

We restore thousands of discarded 100% cashmere items over the course of a year. We recycle mostly post-consumer waste - that is cashmere that has been owned and worn before.

Whilst the majority of our garments do not need repairs, occasionally we make minor alterations to an otherwise perfect jumper to give it a new lease of life.

Each piece of knitwear is individually inspected to ensure it meets our exacting quality standards, before being carefully reconditioned and prepared for sale.

Any garments that do not reach our high standards are reworked into new items, such as snoods, gloves and hats, so that nothing goes to waste.

"It's important to us to stay honest in the way we sell our cashmere."

Ali orr, founder

Each jumper is photographed on the correctly sized model. We list detailed measurements of our models and garments to give clarity around sizing, so you can feel confident buying from us. We also offer easy exchanges and returns.

where it all began

Ali established the brand and we began to build our community from the ground up at charity fairs across the UK.

We opened our first shop in Ali's hometown of Masham, North Yorkshire.

We transitioned to an online business model.

We introduced a range of vintage silk scarves to our online collection.

We extended our product offering by creating a range of cashmere tank tops and neck warmers knitted from 80% recycled cashmere yarn.

We outgrew our first shop and moved down the road to a bigger, newly renovated premises.
